Abstract

The study aimed to ascertain the Psychological Well-Being of Selected College Students of University X during the Pandemic using Carol Ryff's Psychological Well-Being Scale on the following variables: Self-Acceptance, Personal Growth, Purpose in Life, Positive Relations with Others, Environmental Mastery, and Autonomy. Specifically, this study aimed to know the coping strategies used by the respondents to keep up with everyday activities during the Pandemic. It analyzed the relationship between the Psychological Well-Being of the respondents and coping strategies. This study is a quantitative research methodology that employed a descriptive correlational research design. The researcher used the 42-item version of the Psychological WellBeing scale by Carol to ascertain the Psychological Well-Being of Selected 600 College Students of University X During the Pandemic. However, a validated self-devised questionnaire has been used to determine the coping strategies of the respondents during the Pandemic in dealing with everyday issues and challenges in terms of emotion-focused coping and problem-focus coping and to determine the significant relationship between the psychological well-being and coping strategies of the respondents. The study found that selected college students of University X possessed positive psychological well-being during the Pandemic. The study concluded that emotion-focused coping strategies have a strong relationship with psychological well-being, and problem-focused coping has a moderate association with the psychological well-being of the respondents. The researcher suggested that future studies should review, critique, and maybe replicate this study utilizing a more comprehensive range of samples, variables, and other measurement techniques to provide a more thorough comparison of results.
