VIRTUAL BOOK VS. TRADITIONAL BOOKS: DILEMMA CAUSED BY THE RISE OF VIRTUAL BOOKS AS PERCEIVED BY STUDENTS IN RURAL AREAS OF TIAONG, QUEZON DURING THE PANDEMIC

Abstract
This research focuses on exploring the dilemma caused by the rise of virtual
books since the pandemic has struck the country, especially those who live on rural
areas who are new to this type of platform. The main objective of this research is to find
out factors on how the rise of virtual books caused such dilemma to students during the
pandemic and to identify which media platform is more appropriate for students living in
rural areas, traditional books or virtual books. Therefore, a quantitative approach will be
utilizing to conduct an inquiry into this study. The research will be conducted within the
researchers’ vicinity for easy data access. The researchers of this study will use quota
sampling where 50 participants will participate. The outcome of this study will give
additional information on how virtual books caused such dilemma to students during the
pandemic, and what media platform such be used, whether traditional or virtual books.
Data will be gathered and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics such as
frequency, percentage, and weighted mean.
