The Impact of Using Multimedia in Learning Team Sports to Physical and Social Health of Grade 8 Students

Abstract

Applied advanced technology such as multimedia in learning Physical education is very relevant in today’s society. This proposed study determined the impact of multimedia as a learning material in team sports and how it helps develop students physical health as well as social health. This study is a quantitative and utilized descriptive research design. Random sampling is used to determine the respondents, wherein, Fifty (50) grade 8 students are randomly selected to one of the big public schools in Mulanay, Quezon. The data that was gathered is computed using the formulas: percentage and weighted mean. In this research, the result showed that most of the respondents were at the age of 13 and who are mostly females. The result of the research revealed that there is a high impact of improvement to the students’ quality of learning and physical health with a weighted mean of 3.75 with the use of multimedia as their learning tools. In terms of students’ social health, it also revealed that multimedia in learning team sports have a high impact. It showed that it boosted their confidence and ability to practiced socialization with others. Also, the result revealed that students encountered different challenges while learning team sports using multimedia with a weighted mean of 2.60. The multimedia digital platform provided a new direction for the development of physical education specifically learning sports. The researcher recommended to do a more thorough study and effort should be made to explore the different variety of multimedia that are related to the impact of using Multimedia in Learning Team Sports on students physical and social health
