DALUBSAKAHAN: A PROPOSED AGRI-INDUSTRIAL AND COMMERCIAL BUSINESS HUB

Completed2023

Abstract

Despite the world’s social, economic, and political challenges, our country is also facing an even greater agricultural challenge. The agriculture sector in the country is dying and it employs only 25.96 percent of Filipinos meaning that this sector is struggling to get traction as a priority. Agriculture is the preeminent sector in any society as it is the only one that feeds and nurtures the society while also cultivating the land’s ecology and boosting the economy (De Guzman, 2018). It shall function as an all-in-one market for different agri-businesses related to farming, including but not limited to animal breeding, chemicals, crop production/farming, farm machinery, product processing, distribution, marketing, and its sales (Lip, 2022) Building and construction account for more than 35% of global final energy use and nearly 40% of energy-related CO2 emissions (UN Environment, Global Status Report 2017). The design will consider sustainable principles and promote green architecture, such as agricultural waste recycling, convenient and near-the-area product transport, passive cooling systems, and rainwater harvesting, resulting in the reduction of energy, material, and water consump
