Effectiveness of Practices Done by the Kindergarten Teachers for Pupil’s Reading Readiness

Abstract

The purpose of this research study is to investigate the effectiveness of practices done by the kindergarten teacher in pupils' reading readiness. What are practices they do to teach children to read? The respondents of this study are the kindergarten teachers in the selected school in Lucena City. The researcher chooses a checklist questionnaire. The researcher used random sampling as a sampling design for the teacher's respondents consisting of 30 teachers respondents to represent the kindergarten teachers population. Part 1 results of the demographic Profile in terms of age, age between 23 - 26 years old, and most of the respondents are female. 1 - 3 years of teaching service got the most answers and last is the educational attainment almost all of the respondents had a college degree in college. In Practices done by the kindergarten teachers in developing the kindergarten pupils reading readiness, got the top answer is to motivate children at all times, with the total weighted mean of always. Part II What are the techniques of practices done by the kindergarten teacher in developing the kindergarten pupils reading readiness questionnaire top answer is the oral language, with a total weighted mean of always. And for the last part is the Code Responses on the what are effective practices done by kindergarten teachers in developing kindergarten pupils reading readiness the result of my interview is this 21stcentury learning strategies or practices, playing, singing, memorizing the ABC letters, repeating instructions is the one they usually used and effective practices of all those practices.
