Effectiveness of Online Demonstration as an Approach to Teaching Team Sports to the Selected Grade 10 Students

Abstract
This study determined the effectiveness of online demonstration as an
approach to teaching team sports to the selected Grade 10 students. The study is a
random sampling and quantitative type of research that used a descriptive research
design where the researcher distributed printed survey questionnaires that
participated by selected Grade 10 students as the respondents. The researcher
sought the perception of the students in terms of the effectiveness of online
demonstration as a teaching approach, challenges they encountered in online
demonstration, and the impact of online demonstration on the academic performance
of the students. Furthermore, the findings of the study revealed that the demographic
profile of the respondents has an almost equal number of males and females ages
15-20 years old having family income range starting from 30,000 and above, and
most respondents answered sports and exercise as their hobbies. The research
results revealed that the verbal interpretation in the perception of the students in the
online demonstration is Highly Effective in terms of using digital technology in the
process of teaching and learning, video-based learning to assist classroom teaching.
As e-learning becomes the new set-up during the pandemic, the challenges that the
students encountered show that the verbal interpretation is Evident where revealing
technical problems, unstable internet connection, disturbing factors, and students
experiencing fatigue and difficult tasks. Moreover, the data shows that online
demonstration has With High Impact on the academic performance of the students as
they can study anytime and anywhere by watching videos over again, the usage of video presentation and video clips that has good graphics has a huge impact on their
attention and interest. The researcher recommends that teachers should continue to
use digital technology by incorporating video presentations in an online
demonstration as the students can learn to study over again which has a huge
impact on their attention and interests.
