Completed2021

Abstract

The purpose of this study determined the challenges and impact of distance learning on selected active recreational activities for grade-10 students. The researcher used a random sampling design to achieve the fifty (50) Grade- 10 students. The researcher used descriptive design and survey questionnaires to gather data. The research instrument dealt with three parts which are validated by the experts. Then the data was analyzed through an online survey using google forms. After the data was collected, the results were interpreted through different statistical treatments. Percentage formula for Part I and Weighted mean for Part II and III. The finding reveals that the majority of the students were female, ages 14-15 years who experienced slight challenges in terms of lack of facilities and equipment; shyness to perform active recreation because of too many people watching them and mismatch of learning styles to distance learning. However, distance learning made a positive impact than a negative impact on Grade-10 students. Although both teacher and students are still in the adjustment setting, Active recreation during distance learning helps them to learn skills on their own and helps students to have a healthy mind and body. The researcher recommended to students become more creative and resourceful by maximizing the materials available in the community or asking help from the LGUs to support learning. Also, set a schedule to avoid juggling work. While teachers should provide activities that do not require expensive equipment or proper facility.
