The Relevance of Psychosocial and Cognitive Development Theory in Developing Proper Discipline among Grade 1 Pupils

Abstract
he purpose of this study was to investigate the relevance of psychosocial and
cognitive development theory in developing proper discipline among grade 1 pupils. A
random sampling design will be used which will enable the collection of quantitative
data from 30 respondents who are sampled by completing the enumeration. It was
guided by three research questions. (1) What was the demographic profile of the
respondents in terms of age, sex, and the number of years in teaching, (2) What was
the relevance of psychosocial and cognitive development theory in developing proper
discipline among grade 1 pupils, and (3) What was the common behavior displayed
by a grade 1 students in school.
The relevance of psychosocial and cognitive development theory was there
both involved emotions, personality, senses, motor skills, and also social
relationships.
