Abstract

This study ‘’Performance Level of Selected Grade 10 Students on Electromagnetic Spectrum in Flexible Learning in the Selected Public High Schools in Lucena City: Basis for a Proposed Online Enrichment Learning Material’’ identified the performance level, as well as other factors that are present and related to the academic performance of Grade 10 students in a particular topic in science, specifically the Electromagnetic Spectrum in a flexible learning environment. This study used a quantitative descriptive research design. This included survey questionnaires consisting of 5 parts; the demographic profile and the four researchermade scales which are the Engagement Level, Influential Factors, Coping Mechanisms, and Encountered Challenges related to Grade 10 students in the second quarter topic which is Electromagnetic Spectrum in flexible learning. Moreover, there is also a self-constructed 30-item test about the said topic to measure the performance level of the respondents, in support of sub-problem number two. The data collected from the survey questionnaire, including the four selfconstructed tests were computed using statistical treatments namely, Percentage, for the demographic profile and Weighted Mean for parts two to five. As for the scores from the test, Average/Mean, Mean Percentage Score (MPS), and Standard Deviation are the specific statistical treatments applied. After conducting the survey and test, based on the data, the majority of the respondents are highly engaged in flexible learning, agree that moral and social support is an influential factor to them, and most of the students are performing averagely with average mastery level in Electromagnetic Spectrum. Furthermore, implementing projects that support the educational need of students in flexible learning, maintaining a conducive learning ambiance, and providing supplemental activities to enhance students’ performance levels are only some of the recommendations included in the study.
