Information Literacy Skills of Grade 6 Learners in Burdeos Quezon and Its Impact to the Accomplishments of Modular Learning Activity in English

This study aimed to know the information literacy skills of grade 6 learners and their impact on the modular learning activity. Especially the demographic profile of the respondents, the level of information literacy skills of learners, the impact of information literacy skills of the learners on the accomplishment of modular learning activity in English, and the role of information literacy skills in grade 6 modular learning activity in English. The quantitative research design was utilized to employ a self-made survey and weighted mean and percentage on the data interpretation. The respondents were 40 learners randomly selected. The result revealed that most of the respondents were 10-12 years old, female with the majority hobbies of playing games, watching TV shows, movies, and reading books, with 75-80 previous grades in English and books, radio and television as the majority sources of information. The learners' information literacy skills were very often in selecting and evaluating the information in their modular learning activities. The learners' information literacy skills have a high impact on the modular learning activity in English. Learners agreed that information literacy skills have an important role in accomplishing the modular learning activity in English. The researcher recommended urging the learners to participate in the study dealing with information literacy skills. Conducted a seminar about information literacy skills. Attach the guidelines about the proper processing of information in the instruction of every activity. Explain how information literacy skills matter to the accomplishments of modular learning activities in English. Future researchers could investigate how seminars and programs about information literacy skills improve or enhance the learners' learning and look for strategies and approaches to successfully develop the information literacy skills of the learners at the elementary level.
