Bridge Team Practices of Maritime Students During On-Ground Learning
Area of Research
Abstract
This study aimed to determine the bridge team practices of maritime students during
on-ground learning. The objectives of the study are to identify the factors that affect the
impact of the bridge team and to determine the areas that require improvement to help
maritime students be more effective. The study highlights the importance of increasing
the awareness of maritime students about the bridge team and its actual activities. It is
necessary to increase the awareness of maritime students about the bridge team for
their actual activities. The method approach was applied in collecting and analyzing
data through surveys. Considering the objectives of the studies the purposive sampling
and survey method was utilized to get a wide cross-section of participants to be able to
answer the research questions. Self-made questionnaires were the main tool used by
the researchers in the descriptive quantitative method of study for the data collecting.
Purposive sampling was used by the researchers as part of their scientific approach.
The document was gathered through a survey. The study's survey questions are
intended for 2nd class and 3rd class Marine Transportation students enrolled in the
Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation. Data gathered were analyzed and
interpreted using the following statistical treatment such as percentage and weighted
mean. In conclusion, the research study provides valuable insights into the bridge team
practices of maritime students during on-ground learning. By identifying the factors that
affect the effectiveness of the bridge team practices and investigating areas that need further enhancement, the study may contribute to the development of more effective
training programs and educational curricula in the maritime industry. The study's
findings may be useful to educators and students in the maritime industry and
researchers interested in maritime education and training.
