Experiences of Maritime Students in Transitioning from Flexible Learning to Hy Flex Learning Amidst COVID-19 Pandemic
Area of Research
Abstract
The pandemic caused us a loss that made a major setback in education. This incident led
us to implement the new normal that we call flexible learning. This research examined the
experiences of maritime students in transitioning from Flexible learning to Hy flex learning.
Also, it identified the different experiences of Maritime students transitioned from flexible
learning to HyFlex - in terms of attending class, taking examinations, and relations between
students. The researchers used the descriptive method of research. As widely accepted, the
descriptive method of research was a fact-finding study that involves adequate and accurate
interpretation of findings. Descriptive research describes a certain present condition. Relatively,
the method was appropriate to this study since it aims to describe the experience of maritime
students in transitioning from Flexible learning to Hy flex learning amidst the covid19 pandemic.
Based on the study result, the researchers conclude that most respondents are more active during
HyFlex Learning rather than Flexible Learning. The researchers use T-Test to determine if there
is a significant difference between flexible learning and hy flex learning. Therefore, the
researchers determined that in flexible and hyflex learning in terms of attending class, taking
exams, and the relation between the students there is a significant difference.
