Area of Research
Abstract
Today's generation has a severe problem with and a difficult decision to make when it
comes to their career choice. This research aimed to determine the factors affecting the career
choice of Maritime students studying at Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation. With the
help of this research, maritime students can be able to assess their preferences and reach a sound
decision. The researchers focused on discovering the possible factors encountered by maritime
students. To gather the needed data and information, the researchers used a questionnaire that
will be disseminated to the respondents. The findings from the research conclude that most of
the respondents were male and that the main factor that affects their decision for choosing
Maritime was because of their personal choice and the financial stability it can give in the future.
Thus, the study has been reviewed and interpreted the data gathered to come up with the
recommendations needed to limit the factors affecting the decision of Maritime students and
propose an output that is relevant to increase and promote the program. The research will serve as an assessment and the researchers proposed a Career Symposium as a vocational career
material.
