SeniorSys: A Web and Mobile Record Information and Management System for Senior Citizens of Lucena City
Area of Research
Abstract
The primary services provided by the office of senior citizen affairs are issuance
of ID’s, burial assistance, registration, and pension claims. Most of the OSCA (Office of
the Senior Citizens Affairs) use manual processes to render their services. This study was
conducted to determine the acceptability of an innovative platform for online pension and
issuance of an ID for senior citizens in Lucena City. Until now, the office of senior
citizens has provided their services through manual processing. The students’ solution is
to establish an OSCA (Office of Senior Citizen Affairs) system. It can easily provide
services to all senior citizen applicants and OSCA can organize all of the senior citizen’s
data information. Because we are in a pandemic, our senior citizens are unable to visit the
office.
The system was developed using Agile Methodology in Lean-Kanban Approach to meet
the requirements of the users and for implementing, designing, testing, and evaluating the system. The study reveals that the Senior Citizens and Government Officials give the
system a weighted average of 3.53 with verbal interpretation of Strongly Agree. This
means that the system met the criteria of ISO 25010 in terms of Performance Efficiency,
Reliability, Functionality Suitability, Combability, Usability, and Security of the system.
