Effectiveness of the Public Information Practices of Sariaya MPS: Basis for Improvement Plan
Area of Research
Abstract
Police public information practices in all local dealings are a key component of community
policing and problem-solving. This study evaluated the Sariaya Municipal Police Station's public
information practices using quantitative methods through survey questionnaires, it featured the
different public information activities, level of effectiveness, and challenges as perceived by the
respondents. An improvement plan was developed, building relationships is at the heart of public
relations, and it requires time and dedication to succeed. Relationships demand effort. Law
enforcement agencies must communicate in a clear, precise, understandable, and accessible
manner to be effective. The results demonstrated that, despite variations in the level of execution,
Sariaya Municipal Police Station is carrying out a variety of public information efforts. To protect
themselves, the respondents are not entirely confident in their capacity to receive news and
provide information right away. Less agreement among the respondents about public information
initiatives relating to news media is a challenge. The public's capacity to contact the Sariaya MPS,
will ensure safety, prevent panic, and quickly and efficiently reach a huge number of people.
