Impact of Heritage Tourism in the City of Tayabas, Philippines

The main objective of the study is to determine the impact of heritage tourism in the City of Tayabas. This research study aims to gather data and information that provide knowledge in the respondents. Heritage tourism helps encourage a culture of preservation and boosts awareness of the tourist site, attraction, or area's significance. It helps encourage local residents and visitors to be mindful about their impact on the natural and built environment. The researchers applied descriptive research that describes the population, situation or phenomenon about the impact of heritage tourism in the City of Tayabas. Other data were gathered from survey questionnaires consisting of statements on how heritage tourism can contribute. In addition, random sampling was used by the researchers for this study. As a result of the study findings, as well as the economic, socio-cultural, and environmental impact of heritage tourism in a community, residents of the Municipality of Tayabas are aware of when and where they can use their skills and expertise to contribute positively to their municipality as a result of the positive impact of heritage tourism. Moreover, because of the new construction that is being built around them, their own people are not paying attention to the significance of their cultural landmarks in the community. To conclude, this has a significant influence on their everyday lives, particularly in terms of local people's economic survival. They use it to create a guide, a list of job opportunities, and a list of commercial companies that the local community could profit from in order to enhance heritage tourism in their area. The local community should make an effort to ensure the cleanliness of Tayabas City's cultural heritage.
