Completed2022

Abstract

The study aimed to assess the safety protocols implementation and the obstructions that affect the implementation of the safety protocols in terms of execution of guidelines and the extraordinary steps that are being taken to contain the outbreak’s formidable spread. Readers would gain insights on how the people’s commitment to preventive measures is profoundly influenced by their knowledge of the disease in such conditions. The nature and effectiveness of the protocols were also discussed, as well as the areas that can be improved for the tourism industry. This study is quantitative in nature and utilized correlation as a design. The researchers used a quantitative approach that summarized all the data through statistical methods such as Frequency, Percentage, Weighted mean, and the Pearson moment correlation formula. The research instrument is a pilot tested self-made questionnaire that focused on the implementation of safety protocols and the factors of obstruction on its implementation and the data was gathered through answering online google form. The respondents of this research are managers and employees of selected hotels and resorts of District 1 and 2 of Quezon Province. The majority of the respondents are male employees within the range of 26-30 years old and they are married who work in 1-5 years in the Hotel and Resorts. Most of the respondents are from Tayabas and Lucban. There is a high extent of implementation of safety protocols among the selected resorts and hotels as to IATF guidelines, which means that safety protocols were highly implemented by the selected resorts and hotels as to IATF guidelines. Also, there are common factors of obstructions that affect the implementation of the safety protocols in terms of execution of guidelines which were oftentimes manifested, which means that these factors were oftentimes prevalent among the selected resorts and hotels. As a result, the implementation of IATF guidelines has no significant relationship towards factors of obstruction in implementing safety protocols. Hotel and resorts managers need to focus on how to recover the hotel and resorts’ image of credible health and safety, and should focus on how to impress guests with the image of safety at the early stage of the guest cycle instead of concentrating on “occupancy” measures. In addition, the proposed action plan is useful to have a guide that explains all the process on how they overcome the obstructions and better implement the safety protocols that will be used in the hotel and resort establishments.
