Abstract

Traffic is one of the main problem in the Philippines. Engineers play the most important role in resolving problems especially about highways. The idea of proposing a design of arch steel bridge is to aim the main objective of this approach. It is to lessen traffic and develop the environment of the barangay. The study concentrates on the design of the proposed arch steel bridge based on design codes, standards and specification required in the structure components with all possible combination of the proposed structural design computation of the proposed structure Upon accomplishing of all the necessary data needed for the project study, the researchers found out that the arch steel bridge is well designed, acquired high strength under heaviest load. From findings, the researchers come up with the conclusion that the proposed design of arch steel bridge will lessen the traffic especially during rush hours. The attached structural and architectural layout and details are applicable and feasible for the proposed study. Cost estimates, bill of materials, programs of works consistently aligned with the technical specifications of the proposed structure. Based on evaluation, the model has functioned rendering to its safety, economic and aesthetic purposes. With this, the researchers recommend the application of arch steel bridge for composite the construction of bridge being economical and as a result in crack free structure. Since the project study is feasible, the researchers recommend to the concerned government officials to implement the construction of the proposed bridge.
