Exploring Tourism Conservation Practices of Selected Pilgrimage Sites in Quezon Province for Sustainability

The study focused on investigating and seeking actions on how people conserve the selected pilgrimage sites in Quezon Province. Specifically, the objectives of this study were to identify the conservation practices, mitigation of possible problems and challenges and the best practices to help achieve sustainability. The researchers used the quantitative-descriptive research design. The data was gathered through an online survey using a self-made questionnaire in Google forms to solicit answers from the respondents who were selected through purposive sampling. The study was framed by the theoretical pilgrimage life cycle theory, sustainable development theory, and conservation theory of change that were used to help the researchers with the output of the study. The three frameworks guided to connect the relationship of the researcher’s interests in the study. Results show that following rules and regulations of the pilgrimage sites got the highest indicator which supports the sustainability. Moreover, the study found that there is a significant relationship between conservation practices and problems encountered.
