Effectiveness of Security Measures Implemented by the Barangay Officials during Pandemic

Barangay officials are one of the parts of the Department of Interior and Local Government which include the Barangay police officer, SK chairman, and the barangay council that was provided in the function of responsible for peace and order for their citizenry. The department of Interior and Local Government are the part of the government who enforce the mandatory guidelines and provide rules and regulations in their municipality that followed the barangay officials to serves as the primary planning and implementing the government policies such as plans, programs, projects, rules, and guidelines but nowadays barangay officials would strictly implement the mandatory protocols and guidelines from the nationals. The purpose of this research was important to determine the effectiveness of security measures implemented by barangay officials that would help to cope with the basis result of the study to identify the effects of the security measures implemented in barangay during the time of the pandemic.The researchers used a descriptive method to analyze the situation, experience, and condition the barangay officials on the most common area of barangay that who may be facing Coronavirus pandemic in Mauban, Quezon such as Barangay Balaybalay, Polo, Concepcion, Bagong bayan, Daungan, Sadsaran, and Cagsiay l. the formula of the data was gathered as the quantitative method through the use of the weighted mean of the percentage that used in measuring the statistical data and analyzed the percentage, and frequency distribution of the weighted mean to determine the data collected. Results show that the common security measures employed by barangay officials during the pandemic is the implementation of proper wearing of facemask social distancing and sanitizing in the restricted area of the barangay. In the effectiveness of security measures employed during the pandemic as a result of mandatory wearing a facemask and face shield whenever they go outside during the COVID-19 outbreak. And the most problem encountered by barangay officials in security measures implemented during pandemics is citizens that disobey the implementation of mandatory protocols.
