Abstract

Water is the basic need of human being aside from food, shelter and clothing. Here in the Philippines according to WSPA.net, one of the problems experienced in urban and coastal areas is the access to a clean and enough source of water. The goal of the study is to provide the residents of barangay Bagumbungan a clean water in a simplified way which they can utilize in their everyday usage. Research and development was implemented which involve stages in collecting many ideas about different existing principles and theories to develop a design that will help the proponents to build the system. In developing the prototype, rapid prototyping was used to meet the actual product’s function and capabilities. The study consist of MCU, solenoid valve, relay board, pipe, stirrer motor, water tank and LCD that automates the system, control water flow to the system, automatically mix solution and displays current status of the system. In automating the whole system, the created program was uploaded in the MCU to control the switching and management of all the components’ functions. The Portable Automated Water Treatment System turn out to be successful especially effectiveness, accuracy and functionality. Most of the respondent answered yes in the survey which include effectiveness, accuracy and functionality that was probably approved by the residents of the community.
