STUDY ON THE EFFECTIVENESS OF TAYABAS POLICE IN PREVENTING CRIME

Abstract

Philippine National Police (PNP) is the civilian national police force of the Philippines whose main function is to prevent and control crimes, maintain peace and order, and ensure public safety and internal security with the active support of the community. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of Tayabas City police in crime prevention in their community, which may help identify and address any, and all points of improvement within the workforce. Therefore, the objectives of this study are to determine the crime prevention strategies of Tayabas City police, to identify the role of Tayabas City police in crime prevention in the community, and to assess the effectiveness of Tayabas City police in crime prevention. The first chapter presents a history of the Tayabas City Police Instituting crime prevention project to understand an evidence-based approach to preventing crime through discussing institutional settings of crime prevention programs, the science of crime prevention, and research methods used in guiding a scientific approach to crime prevention. Community networks, relationships, and organizations often search for remedies to eliminate this issue, but to no avail; the answer is nowhere near education, housing, economic development, workforce development, and, most recent, crimes. For decades, improvement of community conditions has encompassed. The researchers used the descriptive-survey design. The researchers used a questionnaire validated by their research adviser to gather the data. The researchers formulated the questionnaire based on their literature survey that was used as the primary data collection tool. In this study, the researchers found that the Tayabas City police maintain their effectiveness by keeping their members as safe as possible, especially during operations, while not exempting them from any illicit acts they commit.
