MCU Based Passenger Boar Overloading Detector
Area of Research
Abstract
One of the main transportation medium is the maritime transport. Philippines land area is surrounded by sea that is why maritime transport is important especially in passenger and cargo movements. Having a lack device of calculating a weight capacity status of maritime vehicle in terms of detecting overloading problem is one of the reasons why the authorities are having a hard time in monitoring overloading activity around the port.
Research and development is the method to be used in conducting the study. This method of research supports the imaginary of the design that used in the study. The researchers have gathered first all the necessary literature and have solicited vital information from various experts before coming up with a design that consequently guide them in the development of the project.
The study consist of MCU, load sensor, gyro sensor, motor, miniature. The study use the C programming language for the MCU.
The design of MCU Based Passenger Boat Overloading Detector result of the evaluation is based on the efficiency, functionality and effectiveness of the prototype. In the overall result of evaluation of the prototype, almost all of the respondents’ favor to have a total evaluation result that the system is efficient, functional and effective based on the survey and questionnaireconducted by the researchers.
