Abstract

Connie Ilao’s Budinan, located at Tayabas City, Quezon, is a manufacturing of “budin” or “cassava cake” since 1976. Since Connie Ilao’s Budinan started it never had an organized system regarding the development of standard operating procedure. Standard operating procedure helps the management to maximize the productivity with the standard time, effort and cost. This study is considered as a Research and Development type of study. The researches gathered first all the existing data and through internet research, observations, interviews, applying different tools, theories and methods, using different approach and techniques, the researches came up with the development of standard operating procedure. The researches focused on setting the improvement of process in production and right level of implementing a Standard Operating Procedure, in this kind of home economic business, can minimize the processing time of the production and reduces defects in their product. Determining the requirements in designing new job task and process is needed by the researchers in able to develop the standard procedure. With the help of this proposed project, by conducting motion and time study can increase productivity, improve equipment utilization, conserve materials and energy, reduce human effort, and advance organizational goals. It improves the work process of the “budinan” which resulted into a higher productivity, controlling costs and assuring quality are keys to being successful in any business.
