Casual Factors on the Increase of Cyber Fraud in the Philippines

Abstract
This study aims to examine and help vulnerable people such as senior citizens,
rural citizens, and those who lack knowledge of cyber fraud. This study helped the
community raise awareness as fraud has been upgrading over time, which causes money
and time losses. It prevents victims as the community learns what to do and what to avoid
in fraud situations. This study used a descriptive method to identify the increase in fraud
and people's awareness online. Likewise, mixed-method will be used. Stratified random
sampling will be used to identify the 50 participants who will answer the survey
questionnaire provided by the researchers. The participants showed there are likely to
have hours of internet usage, causing them vulnerable to cyber fraud. The research
suggests picking the most reliable and trustworthy sites by relying on internet
transactions. According to the research, the result shows an increase in cyber fraud by
people's lack of awareness.
