VanGo: An Android-based Mobile Application for Seat Reservation and Van Terminal Locator in Lucena City Using Firebase and Google Map API
Area of Research
Abstract
In PUV Express terminals, drivers have found it difficult to handle commuters on van terminals, while commuters have complained about the length of time waiting. “VanGo” was developed to resolve this problem by creating an efficient terminal seat booking system to locate UV Express van terminals, a map to generate terminals near you, a reservation system for the commuters, and to display available vans in the terminals. The developers adapted the Agile-Scrum method to meet the specified requirements of the user and for implementing, designing, testing, and evaluating the system. The system has been tested on two terminals located in Lucena City. The study reveals commuters with a total value of 3.00, and drivers/operators with a weighted average of 3.31 meet the conditions in the criteria for the ISO 25010.
