A Design of Innovated Ventilating Fan for CETD Classrooms
Area of Research
Abstract
The main focus of the study is to design and create an innovated ventilating fan
that can lessen the electrical consumption by reducing the number of mechanical fan of
each classroom. By reducing number of mechanical fan, depletion of electrical and
maintenance cost can attain by the providers. In designing the prototype researchers
apply the theoretical computation of fans such as capacity of fan, static pressure head,
velocity head, total head, air power, brake power and fan laws were taken into account. In
designing the fan blades, the researchers considered the airfoil, blade twist, number of
blades, fan hub, fan diameter and axial flow. In selecting the motor, the researchers based
the available revolution per minute and power consumption in the market and then used
the theoretical formula about fan performance and fan laws. The difference from the
existing mechanical fan is supplying of air three hundred sixty degrees without any time
interval and by the use of this prototype it can provide a thermal satisfaction on the users.
It involves theoretical computation of the mechanical fan. Those theoretical computations
proved by the testing and evaluation of the prototype. All the results are accurate based
on the computations. Then the overall design was created, evaluated and tested.
