Stress Management Practices of the Seafarers On-Board

Abstract
Life at sea can be particularly stressful for people who work onboard ships, away from their loved ones, and can also lead to increased mental dangers. This study assessed the practices on managing the stress of seafarers on board and what is their lifestyle when they are on board. It used the analysis approach of quantitative methods. The study was conducted around Lucena City and Pagbilao, Quezon. The locale of this study was in some parts of Lucena City and Pagbilao. As there are so many participants in Lucena City and Pagbilao, Quezon, the researchers chose this area. The respondents of the study were 50 people who experience working in the ship and know how to deal with stress. The researchers used the questionnaire as their main instrument to collect and gather information about the practices of seafarers to manage stress on board, which will enable the respondents to answer the question to assess the variables. The results of the study may help other seafarers and aspiring seafarers in managing their stress.
