Third Grade Learning Games Application as a Tool in Developing Reading Comprehension among Pupils

Abstract

This study determined to improve the reading skills of the students having difficulty in reading through a Third Grade Learning Games Application as a tool in selected respondents who have problems in reading comprehension. It also aimed to test the significant difference between the advantages in using Third Learning Games Application as a Tool in Developing Reading Comprehension along student’s practices and academic factor. This study employed the descriptive method of research with the questionnaire as data gathering tool. It described and analyzed the Third Grade Learning Games application as a Tool in Developing Reading Comprehension among pupils in Public School in Quezon Province. The data were gathered by means of the questionnaire. These were analyzed and interpreted using frequency, percentage and mean. It was found out that most of the Grade 3 pupils belonged to 9 years old, males. The students are agree along the advantages of student’s practices and often in impact of their academic factor. Most of the students belonged to age of 9 years old and are males which shows that games have belonged in the male domain because men play more often and for a significantly longer time than women. All students are gradually able to adjust by using this third learning games application as a tool to develop their reading comprehension as individual. The students from Pagbilao Central Elementary School Grade 3 pupils are performing well in terms of using third learning games application as a tool in developing reading comprehension along the impact of academic factor. It is recommended that students should establish another way of engaging and motivating context in which to teach reading comprehension that the students should be constantly undertaken to enable them to be more fluent in reading comprehension. This may lead to a more effective way in developing their reading comprehension. The fact that the students perceived of using learning games application it is recommended that more relevant collaborating self-questioning strategy with other reading strategies reciprocally are also recommended to enhance critical and analytical comprehension.
