Parental Involvement for Students with Special Needs in Modular Distance Learning

Abstract

This studied examined the parental involvement for students with special needs in modular distance learning of 30 respondents in selected public elementary school at Pagbilao Quezon. This studied described a typed of researched that utilized quantitative approached and used a surveyed questionnaire via google form. The researcher used a four parts structured typed questionnaire based on the specific objectives. The first part determined the objectives deal about the data gathering question or the demographic profile of the parents. The second part would deal about the levels. The third part would deal about the impacts and the last part would deal about the challenges that encountered by the respondents to students with special needs learners in modular distance learning. The researcher used the fifth likert scale where the answered in the first part were the Very High, Above Average, Average, Below Average and Very Low for the second and last part were concerned by the parents that needed to addressed, and this were the Very High Impact, High Impact, Medium Impact , Low Impact and Very Low Impact data gathered by using the data analysis planned. The researcher used a google form, online surveyed to avoided the direct contact to the respondents and observed the health protocols for the safety of everyone. Result and findings revealed that majority of the respondents practiced different levels of parental involvement for students with special needs in modular distance learning. The researcher gave some assistance for the parents gives motivation and support for their children registered modular distance learning. These studied were important to knew the supporting strategies that the parents might doing in every modular activities and synchronous online session that were observed and applied collaboration between the parents and the teachers to relay the important things by giving modules, knowing the feedbacks, child behaviors, development of the child and also the understanding about the lesson that assigned to them.
