The Impact of Modular Learning to the Academic Development of Grade 6 Pupils

Abstract

Face to face learning engagement of students and teachers within the school has been suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This pandemic has paved the way to the implementation of Modular Distance Learning as an urgent response to ensure continuity of education. The Philippines is in the process of adapting to the new normal form of education at present, and continuous innovations of educators and active involvement of other stakeholders are the driving force for its success. This study was conducted because it will provide a significant response to the overwhelming concern of the apparent issues concerning the implementation of the Department of Education’s New Learning Modalities, which involves, the Modular Learning Set Up The researcher initiated to know of the current educational experiences of the learners brought about by Modular learning and to strengthen the module itself for the academic growth of the students. The research design utilized descriptive, quantitative method, it describes the method, selection, respondents, procedures, and statistical treatment used in data analysis. This is a Descriptive using questionnaire-opinionnaire of the students. The researcher concluded that modular learning has a positive impact on how the pupil value hard work in their studies and also establishes study discipline and study routines. Modular Learning have a very high extend in these manners. The learner’s attitude towards modality, availability of communication tools and Parental & family supports are the primary factors that will strengthen the current modular learning. By providing the intervention for student in terms by the factors that will strengthen the modular learning will produce positive impact to the academic development of the students.
