Effectiveness of Visual Imagery in Storytelling among Kindergarten Pupils

Abstract

This study aimed to know the visual imagery is effective in storytelling among kindergarten pupils in selected schools district in the division of Lucena City. This study was answered the following questions: The demographic profile of the respondents in terms of Age, Sex, Length of Teaching Service and Educational Attainment, The level of effectiveness of using visual imagery in storytelling in distance learning, and The possible hindrances that teachers may deal with using visual imagery in storytelling in distance learning. This study used the descriptive method of research to utilized the effectiveness of teaching using visual imagery in storytelling in selected school divisions. The questionnaire used was the main data gathering tools to measure the effectiveness of teaching using visual imagery in storytelling of the respondents and the data gathered by the researcher and received positive outcome which to gave the children a chance to respond and let them retell the story to knew listen and learned well better understanding. The researcher highly recommends a more option may provide their own visual imagery that the researcher’s chosen respondents can use and conduct experimental research to have a better result regarding to the effectiveness of using visual imagery in Storytelling of kindergarten. Findings revealed that big books rather than storybooks and Puppets in storytelling are the most effective material that kindergarten teachers can use in storytelling and the most possible hindrance that the kindergarten teachers encounter when using visual imagery in distance learning storytelling is the unavailability of internet connection in the teaching and /learning area.
