Effects of Contingent Reward Motivation to the Class Performance in Dance of the Selected Grade 12 Students

Abstract

The study examined the effects of contingent reward motivation to the class performance in dance of the selected grade 12 students where it determined the use of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation and the effect of positive reward in a normal virtual class performance in dance. It uses descriptive-quantitative data where written questions were gathered. This study uses a purposive sampling technique. Grade 12 populations in University in Quezon consist of 606 students and with the total of six (6) strands. Whereas; Strand A got 25, Strand B got 4, Strand C got 0, Strand D got 1, Strand E got 3 and Strand F got 7. Therefore, the sample size of the respondents is 40. Since circumstances happen, one student from Strand A back out to the study the reason why the researcher come up with the idea of choosing one of respondent from Strand C to at least have the participation of all the strands in Grade 12 in the Private University in Quezon. Results revealed that that female in adolescent period functions well when given a contingent reward motivation in Physical Education (PE) dance class. They also seem that the use of the intrinsic and extrinsic motivation to Grade 12 student has motivated students in participating in a PE dance class and students tends to be motivated when positive rewards are given. Also, it is easier for them to participate and perform in a normal virtual class. However, it is recommended that teachers should provide an improved and effective lesson plans as well as to supply students with more positive praises that will help students boost their confidence in any activity and performance in physical education and should sometimes let students choose the medium with which they will present their work as well as, providing interesting positive rewards on every after activities and performances. For students, they should know what are their strengths and weakness and use their strength to feel concluded and valued to improve motivation.
