Abstract

This study aimed to determine the “The Level of ICT Literacy of Seasoned Teachers in the Division of Lucena City”, This study focused on technology provides different opportunities to make learning fun and enjoyable in terms of teaching same things in new ways for instance delivery teaching through (ICT), taking students on virtual field trips and using other online learning resources. By using technology in the classroom, both teacher and students can develop skills essential for the 21st century. Teachers can use different apps or trusted online resource to enhance the traditional ways of teaching and keep students more engaged. Virtual lesson plans grading software and online assessment can help teachers save a lot of time.The researcher used a descriptive survey method using the survey questionnaire as the primary tool in data gathering to assess the level of ICT literacy of seasoned teacher in the division of Lucena City. The researcher divided the survey questionnaire into four parts namely demographic profile of the respondents in terms of age, sex, teaching experience, highest educational attainment and grade level, problem that encountered by traditional teachers in using ICT, the effects of ICT literacy on their teaching skill and the level of ICT literacy in the division of Lucena City. The researcher found out that based on the findings majority of the teacher’s respondents are in bracket of 41 to 50 and most of them are female teacher in the two schools. In terms of teaching experience, most of the respondent’s experience range at 21 to 30 years with a percentage of 47% out of 100%. In terms of highest educational attainment, most of the respondents are graduated as bachelor’s degree with a percentage of 63% out of 100%. In terms of grade level, most of the teacher is grade 6 with the percentage of 34% out of 100%. The researcher recommends to the teachers spend a time to read more about how to use properly ICT and I recommend provide training or seminar on the ICT tools and how to use them creatively incorporating them into a particularly teaching approach. The general aimed of this study to be excellence and empowering teachers integrate ICT tools into teaching education. For the teacher, I recommend get an overview of most important new technologies and of the growing trend of integrating ICT into education and I recommend them get the best apps, web platforms and ICT solution.
