Change Management Practices of Selected Private Higher Education Institutions in a Philippine region: Basis for Organization Development Intervention
Abstract
This study sought to analyze the change management practices of selected HEIs in a Philippine region to develop an organization development intervention. This study looked into the challenges faced in managing change and how school administrators manage organizational change. The survey questionnaire and recorded interviews were used to gather data. These were self administered and conducted to the respondents of the selected HEIs in a Philippine region. A structured interview guide was followed by the researcher upon conducting the recorded interviews. The majority of the school administrators under study agreed that open communication is their main initiative in responding to the challenges of the change implementation. The majority of the respondents agreed that the absence of change agents is the challenge they face in managing change. The researcher recommends that investing in consultants should be a priority of HEIs in times of change. It was also recommended that top managers should continuously provide support systems in response to the demands of the change directives.
