A Modification Design of Locking Mechanism of Mobile Diesel Generators
Abstract
In the energy sector, there has been an increasing demand for robust and reliable sources of energy. For emergency standby applications where you need a quick start and deliver power immediately, you will eventually opt for diesel generators. The study is about locking the anti-vibration mount of the equipment while it is mobile. As shown in the design and calculation the locking device is suitable for the application. The material selection and fabrication/welding process were also observed with high quality and workmanship. And finally, it has been tested and evaluated and has been observed to be fit for the purpose. Based on the findings and conclusion, the engine transportation lock could be improved for easier installation and removal. It could be adopted the same as the alternator transportation lock having the toggle clamp mechanism. The alternator transportation lock could be improved and eliminate additional welding on the base frame, therefore, reducing the risk of damaging the original paint of the base frame.
