A Design of Neck Ring Mold Extractor

Mold Extraction is one of the critical tasks done in a Glass Container Production Area. These include different types of molds needed to be replaced in daily maintenance activities and when problems occur. Neck Ring is one of the molds that needed to be extracted and replaced during the operation. This project will deal with the design and development of a special tool that can easily remove the neck ring mold, resulting in reducing machine downtime and loss of efficiency. This project aims to gather and analyze data, design, fabricate, and assemble the parts to make a complete special tool extractor and evaluate in terms of functionality and efficiency. Neck Ring Mold Extractor is a design that will focus on the neck ring mold in the neck ring arm mechanism. Its main function is to help the Glass forming and Production Services personnel to remove or extract the neck ring mold easily during maintenance and job change activities.
