A Modification Design of Hydraulic Electric Jack at Trucking Business
Area of Research
Abstract
The study’s center of interest lies in the modification design of the hydraulic electric jack. The study would be using descriptive methodology with interviews and surveys as a data-gathering procedure. The researchers also used a modern technological scale in designing the prototype. The study is expected to show and produce a design of an environmental-friendly system that will lessen the work applied in lifting trucks, making it easier and comfortable for mechanic workers. The findings of this research may help other trucking industries. To optimize the existing design, the hand pump has been replaced by the use of a wiper motor and a cranking mechanism as it can reduce energy usage. In the process of obtaining a suitable design, the company's needs will be translated to the engineering characteristic to obtain the concepts that will be valued based on a weighted rating method. The next step is to determine the part and component that can be modified by arranging the part into chunks and clustering it with the component according to the function or system. Then the configuration design was analyzed according to the function factor. And the critical issue so that the design that had been implemented was based on specification and company requirements. The last step is the new design concept will be calculated to obtain the required force and compared with the theoretical calculation in the table of the human factor.
