A Design of Two-Way Centrifugal Granular Spreader for Farming

Completed2020

Abstract

The research is focused on modifying the design of the device named two-way centrifugal granular spreader machine that has the following objective (a) to gather and analyze the data to design and develop a two-way centrifugal granular spreader for farming;(b) to design a two-way centrifugal granular spreader (c) to fabricate a prototype of the designed two way centrifugal granular spreader (d) to test and evaluate the prototype in terms of effectiveness and functionality. The study aims to solve the problem faced by farmers in Brgy. Mayao Castillo Lucena City. Involving the present situation of the farmers in secluded areas, in which farming is primary subsistence and replace the traditional way of farming to modern applying the theories, principles of machine design, and other mechanical engineering subjects. The data is also collected through internet research and updates, books in the library, and related studies. The project followed a standard format through research and development. Spreading granular requires a lot of time and attention, so this project helps the farmers to lessen their effort and time in terms of spreading. The process of fabrication of the prototype, from the design to the final layout of the prototype itself in the pertinence of its machinery components, will be discussed and analyzed in this research. The machine shop processes like welding, cutting, and gathering of the distinctive apparatus segments engaged with this project will be mentioned. Evaluation and final testing of the prototype will be the last and final process. The efficiency, effectiveness, and functionality of the prototype will be appropriately and consistently assessed. Through this project, the researchers, therefore, see that the two-way centrifugal granular spreader is a great help to the farmers, and the granular spreader helps to lessen the time and effort.
