Development of a Descriptive Analytics-Based Journalism Performance Monitoring System for CALABARZON Region

Abstract
In Journalism, one of the many activities to improve the program is to hold school press conferences. In CALABARZON, they do not just conduct the contests but analyze more the winning performance which serves as their guide for the improvement of creating programs. The proponents developed system which helps the in-charge persons in the contests. The data gathered from the contest served as the factors in displaying reports and graphs in the system. The system includes descriptive analytics functionalities, which helped to determine the performance of each school who participated in the said event. In this study the proponents followed the Rapid Application Development. By following the RAD they identified the process in developing system and tools needed which are the XAMPP and MySQL. Through evaluation, the proponents got attainable (3.33) as a result according to the criteria in evaluating a system. The system can help easily manage the records related to journalism performance and monitor the winning trends of the CALABARZON Region, also by using Business Analytics they can analyze and monitor their performance well in the event.
