Area of Research
Abstract
The study aimed to determine the employability of graduates of Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management from the College of International Hospitality and Tourism Management of Manuel S. Enverga University AY 2015-2019. The instrument used was an adopted and modified tracer questionnaire. The respondents of the study were the BS Tourism graduates class of 2015 to 2019. The study utilized the cross-sectional retrospective survey method. The frequency and percent distributions were used in presenting the profile of the respondents on the employability of the graduates. Based on the findings of the study, it was revealed that the majority of the graduates of the BSTM program were female and single. Most of them were employed related to the tourism and hospitality establishment based within our country, the Philippines. Moreover, the empirical findings of this research led to the following recommendations: more hands-on and practical training should be imparted in the curriculum to ensure that graduates are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to make them highly employable in the industry and an industry immersion both for faculty members and students should be done every end of the academic year to identify the emerging and changing needs and competencies required in the industry.
