Completed2016

Abstract

Webble is a mobile game application designed for IT students, to gain their knowledge in HTML5. The goal of the study is to attain its main objective, which is to develop an interactive educational game-based tool for learning HTML5 with Agile Software Development as the methodology to simultaneously manage number of changes in the development phase. The study provided interactive tutorials wherein the user gathered important information that helped them pass the successive stages. Every stage was experiential and interactive because the user was able to see their scores in real time, solved different obstacles, and they also practiced their coding skills with proper conduct in coding and experimented with how they could solve a syntax problem using Webble’s code simulation feature. The game was tested on 3 different devices in order to determine the software compatibility and it’s behavior. The study found the suitable device that was appropriate for the software functionalities of the game. The evaluation of the study was conducted through clustering method on the targeted respondents, specifically the IT students who were currently taking the Web Development and Design course, using the ISO/IEC 25010. The functionality of the study got the highest average of mean, on the contrary, the usability of the study got the lowest average of the mean. In conclusion, the study was designed and developed successfully throughout the development methodology used with the appropriate tools and devices.
