Cycling Tourism in the post-COVID-19 as a new Tourism Product for Quezon Province

Abstract

The study aimed to determine how cycling can be a new tourism product in the post-COVID-19 for the Tourism Industry of Quezon Province. The residents, travelers, proprietors and employees of food and beverage and attraction establishments, local government units, and employees of the tourism offices from Districts 1 and 2 of Quezon Province participated in this study. A quantitative research design employing a descriptive-survey approach where the subjects of the study are selected via a non-probability sampling technique. The researcher-made questionnaire was validated and pilot tested to establish its reliability. Statistical methods such as frequency, percentages, weighted mean, and ANOVA were used. Results show that Cycling Tourism was a well-known concept to the respondents. They were highly aware and agreeable to Cycling Tourism and Cycling. The respondents “strongly agree” that there are benefits in the promotion of Sustainable Tourism. Their positive perception of cycling tourism and cycling could be beneficial since the introduction and promotion of Cycling Tourism would most likely be successful. The study recommends the establishment of bike lanes, marketing approach, implementation of cycling as a habitual mode of daily transportation, bicycle parking facilities, bicycle sharing system, and cycling program. Furthermore, a promotional campaign plan, a research output, that was designed for the continued recovery in Tourism Industry in Quezon Province may implement and evaluate.
