Abstract
Work and travel program allows current full-time university students of any course, 18-25 years old and preferably in their second or third year of university, to enter the US on a J1 visa. Participants get to meet other foreign nationalities and learn about American culture while working in a private company during their summer break. At the end of their work experience, students also have the opportunity to travel around the US.
The researchers used the qualitative type of data, for us to conduct interview in order to gather in formation to the Work and Travel participants.
The study shows that they experienced how to complete their own requirements and also different cultures from their different roommates and people that they encounter of them before, during and after the program. They also encountered a lot of problems, like about their roommates and neighbours. To overcome their problem they just ignored their problem. The program helped the participants to boost their confidence at the same time they learned and experienced different cultures from different people and friends.
