Tourism and Devotion: Effects of Upscale Development in Kamay Ni Hesus Lucban, Quezon

Abstract
The goal of this study is to determine tourism and devotion and the effects of upscale development in Kamay ni Hesus, Lucban Quezon. The researchers are aiming to describe the profile of the respondents of their perception in Kamay ni Hesus and the positive and negative impacts of religious tourism in the upscale development of Lucban Quezon. The research was done with descriptive method, with (150) respondents composed of tourists and devotes of Kamay ni Hesus. Survey questionnaire was the main instrument used in gathering data. The researchers will focus in Kamay ni Hesus about the perceptions of the tourists’ and devotees and the reasons why they prefer Kamay ni Hesus over other religious tourist venue. Religious tourism is the form that is exclusively or strongly motivated for religious reasons. There are older types of religious tourism, the short-term religious tourism that is distinguished by excursions to nearby pilgrimage centers or church conferences. And long-term religious tourism that describes visit of several days or weeks to national and international pilgrimage and religious conferences. Definitive characteristics such as number of participants, choice of transport, seasonal travel, and social structure are the examples of organizational forms of the religious tourism.
