THE IMPORTANCE OF DASH CAMERA AS AID IN TRAFFIC ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION

The study focused on analyzing the importance of dashboard camera as an aid in traffic accident investigation. It used qualitative data, descriptive survey design which focuses on the importance of the study. It also used descriptive research and simple random samplings where the researcher selected a group of subjects for the study from a larger group. The study aimed to obtain the views of 100 selected offices from Lucena City and Tayabas City, Quezon Province, where 50 Police officers were being chosen per police station. Based on the findings, the majority of the respondents are aged 33 years old, males, married and college graduates. Mostly, they are Police Officer 1 and have 3 years length of service. Dash camera in traffic accident investigation is important because it can be used as evidence and it can help to speed up the investigation of an accident. Dash camera can also capture the unexpected event on the road and the respondents agreed that dash camera is very effective because it can capture the plate number if driver evaded the incident or in case of hit and run. The importance of a dash camera as an aid in traffic accident investigation is very effective and important because of dash camera. All drivers in the Philippines should have dash camera in their vehicles because it has so many benefits to drivers and traffic accident investigation. It is recommended that drivers should install dash cam in their vehicle because when they are on the road no one knows when an accident will happen. The Land Transportation Office (LTO) should encourage drivers that can afford dash cam to install dash cam in their vehicle. All car companies in the Philippines should sell their vehicle with an already installed dash cam.
