BROKEN FAMILY: AN IMPLICATION ON THE BEHAVIORAL DEVELOPMENT AMONG YOUTH AS PERCEIVED BY SELECTED SECONDARY SCHOOL TEACHER’S IN LUCENA CITY

Abstract
The research study was a descriptive survey method. It was a quantitative in
nature that dealt on the perceptions and responses of the participants. The research
focused on the broken family: An Implication on the behavioral development among
youth. The study covered the selected 50 (fifty) high school teachers from Quezon
National High School. The study focused on the comprehensive analysis on the
impact of broken family on the development of the behavior of the students. The
study was limited in the demographic profile of high school teachers’ respondents in
terms of the following: Age, sex, years in service and position. The perceived factors
that affect the students’ behavior, the manifestations of the effects of broken family
among students and the impacts of broken family on the behavior development
among students. After the data gathering the following conclusions were given: They
were 28 years old female which are teacher I-III. They were mostly married. The
perceived factors that affect the student’s behavior were environment of the child is
an influence to the development of the child and Place where the child grow is a
factor that influence and affect the child’s development, the behavior of the child can be affected by the belief of the family and Culture in the family are also factor that
affect the development of the behavior of the child. That, the manifestations of the
effect of broken family were child tends to change their attitudes because of parents
separation and Child afraid to trust other because of low affection coming from the
family. While, Child afraid to gain friends because children coming from broken
family often have low self-esteem and Children comes from broken family may fail to
socialize to others. That, the impact of the broken to the children were in broken
family has large different from others, Child living in a broken family find difficult to
know his desires, Child living in a broken family afraid to love other person and Child
living in a broken family has low interest in studying. After the conclusions the
following recommendations were given: It is recommended for the teachers to
continue attend seminars that will help them to be more prepared on the problems
relative to broken family. Since that the environment of the students was mostly the
factors that affect the children. It is recommended for the parents of the students to
provide more quality time with the students and strengthen communication within the
family is important. It is recommended that parents should be at hand in monitoring
their students. It is recommended for the school to provide such counseling program
and activities that will help the children which belongs to the broken family. It is
recommended to the local government to have programs for the children which
belong to the broken family to find out more on how the students suffering from this
situation may help.
