Pre-enrollment System for Higher Education Institution (HEI) with Prescriptive Analytics using Hill Climb Algorithm
Area of Research
Abstract
The study focused on the modification of the current process used during enrollment season. The study emphasized the development of a pre-enrollment system by which students may get their respective schedules by means of a computer in the comforts of their homes or in any place, as long as internet connection is present. Hill climbing algorithm technique was used in the development of the system to achieve the suitable schedule that the student may acquire while accessing the system. The study was developed by using PHP, CodeIgniter, MySql, as well as using the Cross Industry Standard Process for Data Mining (CRISP-DM) as the system’s development methodology. The system was tested in different devices and ran smoothly in Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. It was evaluated by 26 respondents and the overall weighted mean was 4.48 that implies to “Very Satisfactory” narrative description on surveys performed.
