Completed2019

Abstract

A Mobile-Based Student Guide Application for Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation provided the basic content of a student handbook. Technology was evolving and the use of smartphones was increasing and a lot of applications were evolving along with it. Student Guide Application would be no exemption because this app would give the students a better viewing and reading about the university with the use of a phone. It was an alternative for the manual handbook of the university because not all students were bringing handbook and most of it were being misplaced. Student Guide Application could be accessed anytime. Students need to choose which avatar to use in order to proceed to the content of the app and the voice depends on the chosen avatar. It is less time consuming because the content was organized and a highlight of important details in the university was included. Students could find the information quickly in a few clicks. There was an interactive section which could determine how far the student understood about the school handbook. This would test the student’s knowledge about the information they acquire through reading. The Mobile-based Student Guide Application has a push notification that requires an internet connection to send notification and remind the student to open and read the application. This feature was accessible if the phone was connected to the internet. Different techniques such as Android Studio, Android SDK, and Adobe Photoshop were used. Agile methodology was used for the software methodology. This study was to help the students to have a better understanding and to know adequate information about the university. After developing the mobile application, the respondents evaluated the project using the standard ISO 25010 and got a "Very Good" result with 4.16 as a weighted average.
