Completed2018

Abstract

This study focused on developing a web-based online portal for the Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation. Student Organizations Online Portal (SOOP) was developed to serve as an information system for student organizations. It was created using development tools such as HTML5, PHPMyAdmin, MySQL, Adobe Photoshop, XAMPP, and Sublime Text Editor. Agile methodology was used in developing the capstone project which is an incremental and iterative process and an alternative to traditional methodologies. For the evaluation of the capstone project, ISO 25010 was used to check the functionality, usability, performance efficiency, compatibility, usability, reliability, security, maintainability, and portability of the project. Based on the requirements analysis, the features and functionalities of the online portal were determined. It was successfully developed using the UML diagrams to monitor how the system will interact with the users and each functionality will perform on specific tasks. Web development tools and techniques such as HTML, PHP, CSS and JQuery were used to design and structure the system. The system evaluation revealed that the proposed system is highly acceptable based on the ISO 25010 standards in terms of usability, reliability, efficiency and effectiveness, maintainability, security, and compatibility. However, further development of the system functionalities should be done and additional features should also be considered. A mobile app version of the system should be created to broaden the accessibility of the system.
